METEOR brings doctoral education to Ilia State University’s Science Picnic
On 26 September, Ilia State University hosted its annual Science Picnic, bringing together students, teachers, researchers and members of the wider community to discover and experience science through interactive activities.
The event featured educational organisations and institutions presenting scientific projects, educational initiatives and research activities. Visitors were invited to take part in hands-on experiments, demonstrations and practical activities covering different areas of science and education.

The Horizon Europe METEOR project was represented by Ilia State University, METEOR’s partner in Georgia. Prof. Marika Kapanadze introduced visitors to METEOR and to ongoing European research and educational initiatives connected to PhD education across Europe.
The activity provided an opportunity to bring METEOR beyond its immediate academic and project community and make its work visible to a broader public audience in an accessible setting.
By participating in public-facing science events such as the Science Picnic, METEOR partners help connect doctoral education, researcher development and European research initiatives with wider education and community audiences.
